About Holland Pierik

Holland Pierik is a Rhode Island Event Coordinator and talented surfer who is also a student at Rasmussen University, where he is studying to obtain a degree in Graphic Design. Pierik is a multi-talented athlete who enjoys following diverse passions and exploring various business opportunities. Holland is an expert in delivering high-end event planning services for corporate gatherings, weddings, and other formal events. 

Holland brings considerable energy and creativity to each catered function to provide first-class service and a distinctive event experience for each guest. His achievements in event planning and graphic design, including successful corporate events and visually appealing design projects, speak volumes about his expertise and dedication.

Pierik’s youth was a tapestry of travel, family, and enjoying the coastal sands of Newport, RI. The city’s rich sailing history, surf culture,  and legendary culinary traditions left an indelible mark on him. Inspired by ocean surfers’ uncanny balance and deft movements, Holland embraced the sport, spending long hours surfing, fishing, and becoming a fitness enthusiast. These early experiences shaped his diverse interests, including environmental conservation, the hospitality industry, and marine-related activities, painting a picture of a man with a multitude of passions and talents.

Graphic Design Artist

Pierik graduated from Middletown High, where he studied business and was listed on the Dean’s list.  An avid lacrosse player, he was instrumental in helping his teammates secure two state championship titles. Before entering the hospitality industry, Pierik explored opportunities in the real estate industry. He was employed by a well-known New England land developer and took on multiple landscape development and maintenance responsibilities. 

During this time, he gained substantial knowledge of plant biology and sustainable farming methods. Holland enrolled in the University of Rhode Island in 2018 to study plant biology, pest management, and integrated agricultural practices. Motivated to merge his artistic creativity into a career, he enrolled in Rasmussen University and is on the path to gaining a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design.

Holland draws inspiration for visual design projects from his global travels and diverse elements of surf cultures. He is motivated by a desire to illustrate artistic expression through activities and adventures taken from his lifestyle. In his graphic design studies, Holland is discovering ways to captivate the consumer’s attention with visual concepts that will be used in magazines, brochures, and advertisements.

Event Planner and Coordinator

Holland Pierik is an experienced event planner, balancing his professional career with academic goals and personal passions. He thrives best when challenged, both in the ocean and in business. He works closely with high-end clients to design and host luxury events in Rhode Island. Pierik is tasked with overseeing the proper setup of event venues, logistics of equipment, food, and beverages, and ensuring the entire event is seamlessly executed.

In the event planning industry, Pierik is known for his exceptional service and professional engagement with patrons, resulting in memorable events. His adeptness at solving unforeseen problems with creativity and critical thinking reassures clients that their events are in capable hands. Surfer and Personal Trainer

Pierik has always been health-conscious, taking an active approach to life inspired by fitness and outdoor exploration. He has made a successful career out of his love for surfing and physical fitness. As a Certified Personal Trainer, Holland provides fitness evaluations and constructs personalized training programs to help those looking to improve their quality of life through fitness and nutrition. His experience as a group exercise instructor at Pulse Gym and Studios in Newport, RI, further demonstrates his expertise in the field.

Holland’s love for surfing excites and motivates him to remain in peak physical condition. He learned to surf at a young age and has since become an intimate member of the surfing culture along the Northeast coast. For Pierik, surfing is both artistic and physically competitive. He has appeared in many internet promotional videos and advertisements that have blended his graphic design skills with his passion for surf culture. Holland has the support of a few commercial endorsements who share his goal of fostering connections within the surfing community and supporting its growth. 

Environmental Activist

Holland Pierik is not just an event planner, graphic designer, and personal trainer. He is also an environmental activist, passionately advocating for marine ecological issues such as plastic pollution, corporate dumping, overfishing, habitat destruction, and rising sea temperatures. His commitment to sustainability and his efforts to promote ecological sound practices within his surfing community inspire others to join the fight to preserve the health and biodiversity of our waterways.
